| Description: | Learn the art and science of grafting; how to use the grafting tools, and practice the basic grafting and budding skills, used in orchards and nurseries. This hands on workshop will be taught by Herb Machleder. Tools will be provided. Please wear closed-toed shoes, and garden appropriate clothing. This is a free workshop, but space is limited. RSVP to cwheeler@rsabg.org. Herb Machleder is a certified master gardener in the University of California Cooperative Extension, Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and director of the Master Gardener Orchard Team in Los Angeles County. He is a graduate of the agroecology program and organic farm apprenticeship at U.C. Santa Cruz, and is also an emeritus professor at UCLA.
