|Description: ||Join Evan Meyer, Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden's Seed Conservation Program Manager for this informative talk on seed saving. Evan will describe how to harvest and successfully store living plant seeds. He will discuss various methods of seed storage, and why seed banks are becoming increasingly important in our modern world. After the talk, participants will get the chance to clean various California native plant seeds and take them home to propagate. |
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden's Seed Conservation Program Manager, Even Meyer studied biology with a focus on land management techniques for increasing native plant diversity at the University of Massachusetts. After graduating, Evan worked both in the field and in the Harvard University Herbaria where he studied, and databased specimens of California native plants. Evan came to work for Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in February of 2013.
