May 6, 2012 - Garden with a View
Garden with a View is an elegant garden party with a keynote speaker and fine art auction that benefits RSABG’s research, horticulture and education programs.

The 2012 Garden with a View guest is
Michael D. Antonovich, L.A. County supervisor.
Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has worked on behalf of open space, parks, trails, green technology, water conservation and clean air, improving the quality of life for the residents of greater Los Angeles. He spearheaded the establishment of Los Angeles County’s Oak Tree Preservation Ordinance, recognizing oak trees as a significant historical, aesthetic and ecological resources. The ordinance creates favorable conditions for the preservation and propagation of this unique and threatened plant heritage. Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden is pleased to honor Supervisor Antonovich whose work on behalf of California’s natural heritage supports the mission and values of Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden. January 19, 2012 - Private tour of "The House that Sam Built: Sam Maloof and Art in the Pomona Valley 1945 - 1985"
Members of RSABG’s Director’s Circle, Boards of Trustees and Overseers, their special guests and the Board of the American Public Gardens Association enjoyed an evening together at The Huntington Library. Curator Hal Nelson led a fascinating private tour of the exhibition “The House That Sam Built: Sam Maloof and Art in the Pomona Valley 1945-1985.” Over dinner, Beverly Maloof, former Overseer, delighted guests with her personal anecdotes about Sam’s long and creative life.
