Learn how to make unique books and journals
using a variety of techniques. Participants
will construct two different book types to
take home —
a handsome wood and
leather hardcover book with a slipcase, and
a small single signature book with its own
box. Finished books can be used as photo
albums, plant presses, sketchbooks, journals,
or personalized gifts for someone special. In
addition, participants may bring in treasured
books that are in need of repair. Ms. Kotzen
will demonstrate and discuss repair using
traditional case binding and other techniques.
Full written instructions are provided so that
participants can continue book crafting on
their own. Materials will be provided and
included in class fee.
