Portable kits are available to pick up and take back to the classroom.  Share them with as many classes as possible over the two-week loan period.

Recommended for use in tandem with the “Tree Detectives” tour.
Students investigate life histories of trees.  The investigations lead to understanding basic plant science.  Kit includes hands-on classroom activities, suggested literature connections, assessment ideas and lessons to share with family members.

Native Partners:  Indian Uses of Native Plants
Recommended for use in tandem with the “Indian Uses of Native Plants” tour or the“Native Partners” special program.
Food, medicine, tools and fiber can all be derived from plant material.  Many native California plants were, and still are, used by local Indians. This kit includes samples of plant material, touchable props, boxed display items and an artifact identification game.
