Help support student research
Graduate students in the Claremont Graduate University Botany Department at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden recently produced the first annual Botany Graduate Student Research Calendar.
The calendar, available for purchase in the Garden's California Garden Shop, is only $10.
Each month of the 2012 calendar is illustrated with the plants or field locations related to the students' research. Standard U.S. holidays are marked as are special event dates at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden such as Family Bird Fest, Wildflower Show and Acorn Festival.
>These calendars make excellent and affordable holiday gifts for your family and friends. All proceeds from calendar sales to support graduate student research.
Photo right is Hulsea vestita ssp. pymaea, the pygmy alpinegold. This showy member of the sunflower family dots the treeless barrens of Mt. San Gorgonio. Standing at 11,500 feet in elevation, Mt. San Gorgonio in the San Bernardino Mountains and Mt. Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains represent two very isolated alpine sky islands in the Transverse Ranges of Southern California.
