Grow Native Nursery and Palisades Cares are thrilled to host author, designer, educator and horticulturist extraordinaire, Carol Bornstein for a one hour talk in which she will explore what a California landscape can be become once you loose the lawn. Carol will focus on how to plan, install and maintain an attractive landscape that can replace a traditional lawn. Carol Bornstein is a coauthor of "Reimagining the California Lawn and California Native Plants for the Garden." This class is free and open to the public
- Bart O'Brien "California Wildflowers and Early California Nurseries," Sunday, April 21, 1p.m.
Bart O'Brien discusses the unusual journey that California native wildflowers took into our gardens. Many traveled to Europe and then back to California, while others came to us directly from a small number of early California nurseries. This talk will focus on some of our most popular native wildflowers and how they moved from the wild to home gardens from the late 1830s to about 1940. This talk is free and open to the public.
Both are free and open to the public. Find more exciting events on the Grow Native Nursery in the Veterans Garden calendar below.
