Sarita Dougherty: Domestic Flora Familiars

Community Ecosystem 1

Sarita Dougherty:

Domestic Flora Familiars

March 11 through May 20, 2018

An acclaimed Los Angeles-based artist, Sarita Dougherty presents new work showcasing the vibrancy of California native plants and her personal relationship to them. Redefining plein air, Dougherty's vivid works display a synergy with the land she paints from, capturing imprints of her direct interventions. Whether she has cultivated the very plants in her scenes or tended relationships with the represented plant communities, her paintings bear witness to her connections, personal and spiritual, to the flora that surrounds us. Her exhibition will feature works completed during a recent residency at the Huntington as well as plein air works made at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden.

Gallery open to the public daily, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Admission to the gallery is included with standard admission or membership.

Special opening reception for RSABG members on Saturday, March 10. RSVP requested: please RSVP to the Advancement Office, (909) 625-8676 ext. 221, or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
