Hola from Grazalema

We spent most of last night awake because other patrons were on a late night track.  Ronda, although suggested by friends, was too large and noisy for us.  We left for Grazalema in the Sierra Grazalemas at about noon.  We drove on small roads in the region and stopped to look again for I. filifolia and further in mountains for I. xiphium.  Our search for Iris was not successful but we did see areas where cork oak was harvested and farmlands with goats, cattle and horses.
Grazalema is a village set within the mountains.  We found a small, comfortable hotel in the village center.  There are cultivated Iris planted in gardens and pots around town. We had a light dinner in a tapas bar and being aware that dinner is not available until about 8 pm we purchased goat cheese and bread for lunch the next day –May 10, 2007
