The Nursery Program at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden (RSABG) is committed to supporting native plant conservation efforts in California. A combination of knowledgeable staff and state-of-the-art nursery facilities allow us to provide a wide range of services to government agencies and private organizations.
State-of-the-Art Greenhouses and Growing Systems - Our facilities include many features considered standard in modern greenhouses, including wet walls for cooling, overhead mist systems for proper cutting propagation, and root zone heating systems to hasten seed germination and root growth. These facilities in addition to our growth chambers allow us to successfully propagate most California native plants.
Large Contract Grows, Common Garden Studies and Seed Bulking - Our large growing-facilities in Claremont, along with our newly built growing facilities in Westwood, provide us with the capacity to grow thousands of native plants for various conservation contracts. The varied climates of these two areas allow us to work with a variety of plant taxa.
Rare and Endangered Plant Propagation - The resources and experience available at RSABG allowed for the successful propagation, growing-out and eventual planting out of taxa of conservation concern.
