Sex on the Kitchen Table: The Romance of Plants and Your Food by Norman Ellstrand is a book about sex... plant sex that is! It explores five plants that we consume regularly, offering details on how they are produced through the eyes of a botanist.
Please join us for this lively discussion from the author, Norm Ellstrand, former RSABG research assistant and Professor at Genetics at UC Riverside and Lucinda McDade, Executive Director of RSABG. Book purchase will be available from our Gift Shop.

Family Bird Festival
10 am - 3 pm
Fly, hop, waddle or soar to the Garden for the Family Bird Festival. Enjoy a day outdoors with hands-on experiences, activities and educational opportunities for young beginners and bird enthusiasts alike. Look for and tally up the many species of birds who live in the Garden year-round as well as birds who stop for food and rest along their amazing migratory journeys. Take the Migration Challenge and find out why a bird's a life is not always simple and carefree. Special guests representing Pomona Valley Audubon and International Bird Rescue share stories and information about their efforts to study and protect birds. Pomona Valley Audubon hosts a free binocular cleaning station. Wild Wings of California presents live raptors, up close and personal.
